Presentation of passport of the Republic of Lithuania at the Council of the European Union
On 27 June 2019, presentation on the new passport of the Republic of Lithuania was delivered to representatives of the European Union member states at the meeting of the Working Party on Frontiers/False Documents/Mixed Committee of the Council of the European Union in Brussels, Belgium. The new passports of the Republic of Lithuania have been issued to its citizens since 20 May 2019. The new design of this updated passport was presented focusing on the main differences from the previously issued documents. Newly integrated most advanced technological security features which were never used in Lithuanian personal identity documents, such as transparent window and multicolour image fluorescing under UV light were introduced.
