International conference “High Security Printing EMEA 2026”
Specialists of the Technological information division of the Service of Technological Security of State Documents under the Ministry of Finance participated in the international conference on the issues of high security printing for Europe, Middle East and Africa (High Security Printing EMEA) which was heldon 9-11 February 2026 in Rabat (Morocco). This event brought together representatives of state institutions, central banks, technology developers, and secure document experts from across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
The conference showcased the latest trends in secure document design, production and protection – from advanced optical security features and new personalization technologies to physical and digital identity solutions. The presentations also addressed methods for preventing document forgery and fraud, the integration of digital security elements into physical documents, sustainability directions in production processes and other relevant topics.
One of the key highlights of the conference was the traditional awards granted for the most innovative banknote and identity document solutions. In the 2026 awards, several countries were acknowledged for their cutting‑edge identity document projects:
- Estonia (identity card) in the category of the Best Electronic Identity Card;
- Liechtenstein (passport) in the category of the Best Electronic Passport;
- Georgia (travel document family) in the category of the Best Document Series;
- The Netherlands (driver’s licence) in the special category for identity and travel documents.
These awards are granted for advanced solutions, high level of technological security and innovations in the development and implementation of identity document systems.
Participation in this international conference provided our specialists with the opportunity to learn about the latest secure document technologies, exchange experience with experts from other countries and discuss current challenges in the field of the technological protection of documents.
The next “High Security Printing EMEA” conference will be held on 1-3 March 2027 in Vienna (Austria).
