Conference in Germany

On 14-15 May 2019, international conference "E-identity documents and e-technological security" was arranged in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. Together with several hundred participants from all over the world, the conference was attended by the director Klemensas Rimšelis and deputy director Leonas Stankevičius from the Service of Technological Security of State Documents under the Ministry of Finance.

Participants of the conference got acquainted with the ways of linking information technologies (IT) with technological security features for appropriate document security. The newest type Driving licence of the Netherlands (which also serves as an identity document) was introduced, as well as certain e-services that could be obtained by the inhabitants of the country using those driving licences. The focus was laid on some African countries, e. g. the Federal Republic of Nigeria, were attempts are made to integrate identity documents with bank payment cards.
